2nd grade has had an exciting April!
The solar eclipse and Earth Day were big topics in our classrooms and students completed a variety of activities that made them a bit more interested in the world around them!
The kids have really enjoyed writing letters to their 2nd grade pen pals at Jefferson. Through this experience, they have had the opportunity to learn the parts of a friendly letter while engaging with a new friend. Students will be able to meet their pen pal in May!
In math, we have successfully wrapped up our three-digit addition and subtraction units and moved into money and telling time.
In reading, students have been diving into a variety of mentor texts and StoryWorks articles to work on building comprehension skills, while supporting their ideas with text evidence.
We are looking forward to all the excitement that is about to come in May!
